Benidorm
We are spending a very pretty vacations in the Costablanca (Alicante, Spain). We have begun to visit Benidorm, the city/beach more important of this part of the Mediterranean.
Benidorm is a city that absolutely lives for the tourism. It has approximately 70,000 inhabitants, of who 30% are foreign (essentially British and of the European Community). What for of Benidorm a forced destiny, it has been his fantastic climate, smooth in Winter, and warm in summer. Since this city lives on the tourism, it has a supply of leisure and very great recreation: aquatic and thematic parks, hotels of all the possible stars, apartments, and an incredible amount of pubs (open all night).
In order to begin, we want share a pretty image here:

Looking Back... Was I Sinking? Nah..
You ever get a wee bit frustrated at how slow things move along when you are trying so hard to make a difference. NOW darn it! I want change now! I've been caught up to my neck in a financial bog this summer and am just now seeing a tree branch growing out in my direction and it is almost close enough to grab on to and pull myself free of my financial spiral downwards. But if I move too soon I will certainly be sucked down out of sight and devoured by what lies below. So I breathe very shallow, and sit very still not even a sneeze while I wait... waiting.... No don't sigh... waiting still, for the September bang that is promising to lift me out of my mucky prison.
I have so many changes I want to make in my life to join forces as one more person to fight against the mindless abuse of our planet. Fidgeting, gnawing on my tongue, hurry up and wait. What do other people do in times like this? I just try to use as little resourses as I can until I can find freedom enough to continue my conversion from earth monster to Mothers gardener.
Well I have turned to my computer to write on my various blogs trying to keep my mind clear of the struggle and posed on the positive brighter end that is very near. It's a hump is all and I wasn't looking where I was walking so have a mildly sore toe. I'll keep that hump in mind next time I traverse these parts! Now I feel like laughing out loud as it is all so funny when you step outside of the systems that are set up to fail. It is even funnier, to me anyways, when I watch those systems flounder about not knowing how to act or what to do when people like me don't stay within the invisible lines.
To be honest, I don't know why I wrote this, just thought that something needed to be put on my blog. Certainly don't want it getting stale. So if you are reading this and it sounds like gibberish... guess what?
Hehehe
Try out this blog...

Have a great day and don't get caught in the bog. It's a very sticky place to be. Lucky for me the trees here grow fast. :D
Documenting Euthansia drugs
Hi, It's Lisa from the CCSPCA again. I'd like to know if anyone is using PP's "Euth. log for tracking thier dogs, usage etc. and not keeping a paper record. My concern is wether or not I have to keep a paper log of all the drug usage with signatures, or can I just keep track of it in PP with out the paper trail and signatures.
Thank you again for your help
Adoption Application
Hi, My name is Lisa and I'm the Shelter Manager at the CCSPCA. We are new at using this software and I was wondering if anyone had a template for an Adoption Application that they have put into PP software. I'd rather not re-create the wheel if it's already been done.
I look forward to your responses.
Thank you
Lisa
Finished?
I think I am finished with my Mom's scrapbook and it has been an emotional journey. My father died when I was four so i did not remember him. By doing this scrapbook I got some insight in to how much my parent loved each other. I also saw a silly side of my Mom I did not know about. We had a wonderful childhood and this just made my younger days come to life. I found a few more photos that were tiny about the house I lived in and Mom still does during construction. I have to scan those and enlarge and add to her scrapbook. Am I finished. Probably not.

Caesars Diametric Diatribe
Christopop asked if Caesars poem could be reformatted into the presentation originally intended, it can, no problem with the theory but the width of Caesars effort won't fit in the space MyT provide here.
I've formatted it as I think was intended and posted it as a picture:-

Reading festival woes
I cannot believe it. I am an outraged victim of the SOS Master Tickets scam, or rather my mother's debit card is.

At least I've remembered my wellies
Going to the Reading Festival is the big essential treat of summer after your GCSEs. I booked my tickets in April and my mum paid (£227.49) and I felt really happy knowing I had Reading to look forward to.
Then, this week, two nights before I'm due to go, still no tickets and rumours of a scam. I call the number on the order sheet I'd printed out and got a dead sound.
Looking at the address my heart flips: it is in Spain. I lie terrified in bed. On Tuesday, I tell my mum. She looks at the Reading Festival website and at the top of the long list of thieving scamming touts NOT to book with is SOS Ticketmasters. She calls her bank it and actually seems like she might get her money back.
Our friend Seany says tickets are going on sale at the box office on Thursday at 8am.
Optimistically I pack on Wednesday night and get up at 5.30am. My friend Zsofi arrives at 6am (allowed to go even though her mum is furious about her second tattoo) and my mum drives us to Waterloo station with our huge luggage - sleeping bags, tent borrowed from a friend, clothes, make-up, handbags, Wellingtons.
Did the Duke of Edinburgh last year so I know what to bring (although on the train we both realise we've forgotten our razors and hope our armpits will last until Monday).
At Reading, we get a taxi to the red gate (despite 118118 giving us the number of a taxi service at Manchester instead of Reading station; nightmare confusion). Hundreds of people are just standing around, the ticket office is shut, and everyone is saying there are absolutely no tickets.
I felt anguished, upset, angry - having come through the GCSEs just for this. I sit on the pavement outside the site. 40-year-old male touts, a little dodgy looking, come up offering tickets for £400 or £500. Joke. I call my mum and she says, just wait; there are bound to be people who have woken up ill or who have fallen out with friends who will have tickets to sell. Dad tells me just to give up. Zsofi and I are totally depressed.
Then - amazing! Amazing! I get one ticket. £250. We wait in the rain, hoping to get one for Zsofi. Nothing. Other friends arrive so we go to a B&B near the site and get a room for Zsofi for £70 where she can wait until hopefully she gets a ticket.
Right now, I'm in and wandering around the site. I've only got one tiny space so the people next to it are guarding my tent and bags while I go with my friend Caitlin and look for a bigger space. I am hot and upset and I want to go home. It is just not worth it. You have to wait a million hours for every single thing. It is so much effort. I am starving.
Maybe tonight I'll feel better but I don't want to be alone in the tent. I suppose I can abandon it and stay in the B&B with Zsofi?
I've just realised I've not brought a phone charger, but there's nowhere to plug it in anyway.
Homemade Tuna Treats for Kitty.
Tuna Treats
(alternative to cat treats)
Makes approximately 60 treats:
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup nonfat, dry, powdered milk
1/2 can tuna, in oil OR 1/2 cup cooked chicken, chopped into small pieces
1 tablespoon vegetable oil OR cod liver oil
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup water
Catnip (Optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease cookie sheets with cooking spray. In large bowl, mash the tuna (or chicken) into smaller pieces. Then add flour and milk. Mix well. After all is mixed, pour in water and oil. Mix well again. Next beat egg in seperate dish until egg gets a foamy texture. Add to mix. Mix well. The dough mix will be sticky, so don't worry. Using your fingers, shape dough into samll bite size balls - about the size of a marble. Put balls on greased cookie sheets. Flatten balls with hand. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove treats from oven wait five minutes and turn treats over so other side will cook. Bake 10 more minutes or until golden brown in color. Place treats on cookie rack to cool. Cool for 15 minutes. NEVER give treats to your pet right after cooking. You can add the catnip in the recipe or sprinkle on top of treats. They like it either way. Store in air tight container and store in refrigerator or cool dry place.
Gardening by the Moon..
I know it's a little late in the season, but here is some iformation that might help you in planning for next season.
Gardening with the Moon
The Moon is inexorably linked with the Earth and controls the tides of the oceans and seas by it's gravitational pull.
It makes sense therefore that man has been using the magic of the Moon and her phases to get the maximum benefits from his crops and garden stock.
Use the time of the New Moon to plant seeds of plants that appear above ground, whose seeds appear outside the plant, such as broccoli, cauliflower, spinach and grains.
The second quarter and particularly a couple of days before the Full Moon appears, is the optimum time to plant crops which grow above ground and whose seed is inside the plant, such as tomatoes, peppers, melons and beans.
The Full Moon and Waning Moon is perfect for planting bulbs, flower seed and root crops such as carrots, potatoes and onions. It's also a great time for transplanting plants.
The period just before the New Moon is an inactive one, being best for harvesting, pruning, transplanting and cutting grass.
Flowers and Plants connected with the Moon
Acanthus: The acanthus plant is said to have grown around the pot placed on the grave of a young girl in the ancient Greek city of Corinth, and was so beautiful growing around the pot, the architect which spotted it was inspired to create the Corinthian column, known throughout the world.
Daisy: Representing innocence and also is the plant of St. Mary Magdalene. Spring is said to have truly arrived when you can place your foot on twelve daisies.
Honeysuckle: Devotion, generosity, sweetness, fidelity.
Hyssop: Cleanliness and used for fending off evil spirits and energies.
Iris: Wisdom, valour, inspiration, ardour, faith and hope. Named after Iris, the Goddess of the Rainbow, who was a messenger on Mount Olympus.
Moonwart: A fern with legendary properties including: raising the dead, opening locks and unshoe-ing horses that tread on it. If gathered by the light of the Moon, magical properties will abound.
Myrtle: Love, marriage, beautifully scented. It is said that if a myrtle bush is planted either side of the door, love and peace will forever be in the household.
Poppy: Consolation, moderation.
Speedwell: The name is derived from the story concerning a young girl (later canonized as St. Veronica) who wiped Jesus Christ's face with Speedwell flowers on his journey to Calvary. As a result of this, healing properties were transferred to this lovely plant.
Wallflower: Constancy, sweetness, delicacy.
Water Lily: Purity of heart, charm.
White Lily: Purity, modesty, innocence. Chinese symbol of abundance.
Willow: Dreams, enchantment, wisdom and healing. Particularly associated with Moon Magic, especially willow wands.
In the waxing phase, the theory is that the water table rises and plants take up nutrients faster, making it an ideal time to plant.
The waning phase is much better for pruning and weeding as the water table is lower and things like tree sap run much slower. Anecdotal evidence also suggests that harvests are larger and plants don't go to seed as quickly if planted in the appropriate cycle.
So, quarter by quarter, here is what you should do if you'd like to garden by the moon...
Quarter 1: The start of the waxing phase with the new moon is the best time to plant above ground leafy vegetables. Plants that respond well during this quarter include broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, spinach, celery and cauliflower. The water table is rising and the plants will take up nutrients and germinate quickly.
Quarter 2: The gravitational pull of the moon is less but the additional light theoretically aids leafy growth. Vegetables that respond well to being planted in this phase include those that form internal seeds like beans, peas, tomatoes and vine crops. The second quarter is also where vegetables should be harvested. This is when their moisture is at its peak.
Quarter 3: Just past the full moon, the water table is dropping and growth is slowing. This is the best phase for planting root vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, beets and onions. It's also a great time to do any pruning in the garden that is needed. The cut ends will lose less moisture or sap during this period.
Quarter 4: A dormant period and no planting, harvesting or pruning should be carried out. This time is best used for weeding, turning the compost and other garden chores.
Gardening by the moon is another option to introduce into your gardening to give you a bit of an edge when failure is NOT an option.
Mark Spitz: Michael Phelps couldn't have beaten me

Speaking of that famous pose ... here it is. Spitz, who won seven gold medals in '72 at Munich, had his record shattered in Beijing by Phelps, who grabbed eight.

Mark Spitz thinks there's only one man who Michael Phelps can't beat.
His name is Mark Spitz.
Spitz, the American swimmer whose record of seven gold medals in a single Olympics Games was shattered by Phelps, said Wednesday that if the two legends squared off in their primes, it'd be a draw.
"I think that the relationship between people that are great is they have a common thread of knowing how to beat their competitors and they know how to constantly be in shape and in top form," Spitz told the Daily News.

"If that's the case, I'd know everything about how to beat Michael," he said. "He'd also know everything to beat me. We'd have to tie."
Spitz, 58, in town to promote a Hyatt Resorts vacation package, spoke graciously of the 23-year-old phenom from Baltimore who broke the record he set in the 1972 Munich Games.
Spitz even predicted that Phelps could bring in more golds in the next Olympics.
"I believe that he can go for nine," Spitz said outside Grand Central terminal, noting that Phelps could add the 200 meter backstroke to his extraordinary repertoire.
EARLIER: PHELPS BECOMES FACE OF FROSTED FLAKES
"But they need to change the order in which it's participated on that particular day . . . so that he would have more than 27 minutes of rest."
As Spitz addressed the media in Manhattan, Phelps left China Wednesday on an overnight flight bound for London, the site of the 2012 Summer Games.
There, he'll participate in the official torch handover before returning to the U.S. for a well-deserved vacation.
"I really want to spend as much time with my friends and family as I can," Phelps told the Associated Press. "It's coming up on two months on the road. I want to be able to see them and just relax."
THE DEBATE: IS PHELPS THE GREATEST ATHLETE EVER?
Phelps' departure is bad news for NBC, whose ratings have dipped now that the human fish is gone from the Games.
Nearly 40 million people watched Phelps break Spitz's historic record on Saturday night, raising the average for the day to 31.1 million.
On Sunday, the average number of viewers was 26.8 million. And on Monday, the number fell to 26.4 million.

CAT FIGHT?
Carrie Underwood recently said that Tony Romo still calls her, but she doesn't answer. Jessica Simpson said on a radio station in Nashville that she knows for a fact Tony hasn't called Carrie. What's her proof? She checked his call log! Ummm... okay I probably would not want to admit that!
Jessica said, "Tony and I both laughed at that. We got a chuckle out of it." When asked about if it was true, Jessica said, "I know it's not true -- I looked at his call log. I'm kidding!" She's not kidding.
